Terms of Use – Roam

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Roam mobile application (the "Platform") made available by Interact Group Private Limited ("Roam", "Company", "we", "us" and "our"), a private company established under the laws of India having its registered office at Bengaluru, Karnataka India, 560102. The terms "you" and "your" refer to the user of the Platform. You agree to be bound by the Terms by using the Platform.

These Terms, the Roam Privacy Policy and the Roam Community Guidelines ("Platform Policies") will be read together. The Platform Policies set out the rules you are required to follow while using the Platform.

We reserve the right to modify, amend or change our Platform Policies at any time. We will indicate the effective date of each change under each policy. Users will be notified of material changes through in-app updates, which they must acknowledge before they can continue using our Services. Your continued use of the Services will indicate your acceptance of the updated Terms.

CHANGES TO SERVICES

Our Platform is dynamic and may change rapidly. We may change the services we provide at our discretion, and may temporarily or permanently stop providing Services or any features to you generally. We may remove or add functionalities without notice. However, if we make a change where your consent is required, we will ask for it.

WHO MAY USE OUR SERVICES

Roam is a city discovery app. It helps you find hotspots in your city, browse lists curated by us, save places from Instagram reels into lists, keep track of the places you visit, build a profile of your interests and travel stamps, and connect with friends ("Service/Services"). Roam never posts anything on your behalf, on Instagram or anywhere else.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Roam. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf and supervise your use. You must provide accurate age information and meet any additional consent requirements applicable to you. Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple do not, by themselves, verify your age or parental permission. We may suspend access where eligibility or required permission cannot be established. Accounts belonging to children under 13 are not permitted; if we learn of one, we will close it and handle its information as described in our Privacy Policy.

For users who identify their age group as 13–17, Roam filters recommendations to limit alcohol-related and sexual content. Social and import features remain available. Automated filtering may make mistakes; please report inappropriate content.

PRIVACY POLICY

The Roam Privacy Policy explains account information from Google or Apple, optional avatars, location, selected photo metadata, private journals and shared content. This version does not collect your device address book. Optional external retrieval and AI processing require a separate in-app choice; agreeing to these Terms does not authorize that processing by itself.

YOUR COMMITMENTS

By using our Services, you agree and acknowledge the following:

a. No Impersonation or False Information

You will provide accurate information, including your correct age. You will not falsely represent yourself as another person, or as someone of a different age, and you will not create or use more than one account.

b. Genuine Visits

Visits in this version are marked by you with "been here"; Roam does not detect arrivals automatically. Only mark real visits and do not manipulate counts, rankings or lists. Place and map information can be inaccurate; do not rely on the Platform for personal safety.

c. Instagram Import

You can import places by sharing to the app, pasting a public Instagram reel or post URL or selecting supported media. You will only share content you are allowed to share, and will not send private, unlawful or infringing content. We use automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to find places in reels, and the results may be incomplete or inaccurate. Reels and posts belong to their creators; we show the creator's handle where available and do not claim ownership. Roam is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.

d. Places Information

Place details such as names, addresses, ratings, photos and opening hours come from third parties such as Google Maps and may be inaccurate or out of date. Our curated lists are our opinion and are not paid endorsements. We are not affiliated with the businesses shown and are not responsible for their products, services, safety or conduct. You visit any place at your own risk.

e. Respecting Other Users and Their Location Privacy

You must respect the rights and privacy of others. You will not use the Platform to stalk, track, follow or turn up uninvited where another person is, or to share anyone's location, visits or personal details without their consent. You will send friend requests only to people you want to connect with and will not keep sending requests to someone who has not accepted. You will not harass users based on their gender, race, religion, caste or ethnicity.

f. Device Security

We have implemented measures to keep our Platform secure, but no platform is immune to hacking or virus attacks. You shall not use automated means or bots to access the Platform or collect user information.

g. Content Removal and Termination

If your username, profile photo, list names or other content violate these Terms, the Community Guidelines or applicable law, we may remove it. We may suspend or terminate your account and block you from re-registering if you violate the Platform Policies. Activities that can lead to permanent termination include, for example: signing up with an abusive name; using the Platform to stalk or endanger someone; being under 13; and signing up from a device or account already blocked by Roam.

We assess the severity of each violation. Typically: we first notify the user and ask them to stop; if the violation is repeated, we block the account for 24 hours; a further repetition leads to a 48-hour block; and continued violations lead to a permanent block.

h. Respecting Roam's Intellectual Property Rights

Roam owns all rights to the Platform, including its brand, logo, design, curated lists, software and technology. You will not, and will not help others to:

use Roam's branding, logos, designs or interface elements except as permitted by these Terms;

copy, modify, distribute, sell or create derivatives of the Platform or its content, except as the Platform allows;

reverse engineer, decompile or extract the source code of the Platform; or

use crawlers, scrapers, bots or browser plugins to collect places, profiles or other data from the Platform without our written permission.

i. Platform Not to be Used for Anything Unlawful or Illegal

You shall not use our Platform to share any content (including usernames, profile photos and list names) which is:

obscene, pornographic, harmful for minors or paedophilic;

discriminatory, hate speech, or incites violence or hatred against any person or group;

defamatory, or invasive of another person's privacy, including their location;

impersonating another person or business;

promoting gambling, money laundering or any illegal activity;

threatening the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign States, or public order;

spam, junk messages or unauthorised commercial promotion;

patently false or misleading, with the intent to harass or cause injury; or

containing software viruses or any code designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource.

j. Content Rights and Liabilities

You own the content you add to the Platform, such as your username, profile photo and list names, and you remain solely responsible for it. We may access, review and remove your content at any time if we believe it violates these Terms or applicable law. You may delete your content or your account at any time, as explained in the Roam Privacy Policy.

k. Third-Party Materials and Services

The Platform uses third-party services, including Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, Google Maps, and external services for retrieving and processing content you share. The current Instagram import feature accepts shared or pasted public links and supported media; it does not use an Instagram account connection. The applicable service terms and the processing disclosures in our Privacy Policy govern these integrations. Roam does not claim ownership of third-party content or imply that its availability grants permission to copy or reuse it.

l. Intermediary Status and No Liability

We are an intermediary as defined under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. These Terms are published in accordance with Rule 3(1)(a) of those Rules. We do not review all content on the Platform and are not responsible for the actions of users, online or offline. Our responsibility for anything that happens on our Platform is governed by the laws of India and limited to that extent.

m. You Will Not Attempt to Disrupt or Jeopardise Roam

You will not interfere with, or use non-public areas of, our Platform or technical systems. You will not introduce viruses or malicious code, use bots, scrape the Platform, or probe, scan or test the vulnerability of our systems. If you tamper or attempt to tamper with our technology, we will terminate your account and may report you to law enforcement authorities.

PERMISSIONS YOU GIVE TO US

Licence to content

By adding content to the Platform (such as your username, profile photo and list names), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, use and display that content, consistent with your privacy settings, only to operate and improve our Services. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must keep it by law.

Device permissions

With your permission, the Platform uses foreground location, selected photo metadata, camera or selected uploads for the features you choose. In App versions that offer them, optional background location, automatic visits and saved-place reminders are used only if you turn them on in Settings, as described in our Privacy Policy. Roam does not match your device contacts. If you turn on reel alerts, where available, Roam sends reel-ready push notifications through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging; saved-place reminders are notifications created on your device. You can revoke OS permissions in phone settings and withdraw external-processing permission in app settings.

Automatic downloads and updates

We update our Platform regularly. You may need to install the latest version of the Roam mobile application to keep using our Services.

FEES

Roam is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will show the price before you buy and separate terms will apply.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DISAGREE

In all cases, you agree that disputes will be subject to the laws of India and the courts of Bengaluru shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all such disputes. Nothing here limits your right to approach a consumer forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL AND REPORTING

We have a Grievance Redressal Mechanism to resolve any concerns or complaints you raise about Roam:

Note: the Nodal Officer email is only for police and investigating agencies. Users should contact the Grievance Officer for user-related issues. Complaints will be acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days of receipt.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

We do not assume any liability for any loss or damage arising directly or indirectly from any inaccuracy or incompleteness of information on the Platform, including place details, curated lists, visit detection and Instagram imports, or from the actions of any user.

The Platform and Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any representation or warranties, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.

In no event shall we, or any of our affiliates, successors, assigns, investors, directors, officers, employees, agents, service providers or suppliers, be liable for any special, incidental, punitive, direct, indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or any place you visit.

ASSIGNMENT

The rights and obligations under these Terms are granted only to you and may not be assigned to anyone else without our consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms, for example if the Company or substantially all of its assets are acquired by or merged with another entity.

TERMINATION AND SUSPENSION

You may terminate these Terms by deleting your account from Profile → Settings → Delete account. Roam may restrict or suspend access, terminate usage rights, or remove or disable access to non-compliant content if you fail to comply with the Platform Policies or applicable law. We may also deactivate accounts after prolonged inactivity and reclaim usernames.

For violations of our Platform Policies, we will notify you of any restriction, suspension or termination and give you an opportunity to appeal. The notice will read in the following manner:

"It has come to our attention that certain content or activity on your Roam account potentially violates the Terms of Use, Community Guidelines, or laws in force. Potentially harmful content or activity: (description). Grounds for violation: (applicable policy). We will be taking down this content / suspending / terminating your account. Please consider this notice an opportunity to respond with any relevant context or evidence."

Once we act against content or an account, the user will have a reasonable time to appeal by writing to security@lifeatsocial.com. Provisions on intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification and dispute resolution survive termination.

INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless us, our subsidiaries, affiliates and agents, and their officers, directors, employees, successors and assigns from any claim, proceeding, loss, damage, liability, cost, demand or expense (including legal fees) arising from: (i) your access to or use of the Platform; (ii) your breach of these Terms; (iii) your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property, privacy or consumer protection rights; (iv) your violation of any law or contractual obligation; or (v) your negligence or wilful misconduct. This obligation survives termination of these Terms.

UNSOLICITED MATERIAL

We appreciate feedback and suggestions. We may use them without restriction or any obligation to compensate you, and we are not obliged to keep them confidential.

PROHIBITION OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AND EXPLOITATION (CSAE)

Roam is for users aged 13 and above. We have zero tolerance for any content, activity or behaviour that involves the sexual abuse, exploitation or endangerment of children, including sharing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any conduct violating the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and other applicable laws.

Report any such content or activity immediately using the in-app report option or by emailing security@lifeatsocial.com.

We will take down reported content within 24 hours, preserve records for authorities as required by the IT Rules, 2021, and cooperate with law enforcement, including reporting to the Cyber Crime Portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in).

Users found violating this policy will face immediate permanent suspension and legal action.

GENERAL

If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.

Any amendment or waiver to these Terms must be in writing and signed by us.

If we fail to enforce any part of these Terms, it is not a waiver of our rights.

We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.
