Community Guidelines – Roam

Last updated: 3 October 2026

These Content and Community Guidelines ("Guidelines") govern your use of the Roam mobile application (the "Platform") made available by Interact Group Private Limited ("Roam", "Company", "we", "us" and "our"), a private company established under the laws of India having its registered office at Bengaluru, Karnataka India, 560102. The terms "you" and "your" refer to the user of the Platform.

Roam helps users aged 13 and above discover their city, save the places worth going to, and see where their friends go. Because Roam deals with real places and real-world visits, keeping each other safe matters even more than on other apps. We may change these Guidelines from time to time.

For users who identify their age group as 13–17, Roam filters recommendations to limit alcohol-related and sexual content. Social and import features remain available. Automated filtering may make mistakes; please report inappropriate content.

CONTENT GUIDELINES

The content you add to Roam includes your username, profile photo, list names, notes, selected uploads, private journal photos and the Instagram links you share with us. Private content remains subject to applicable safety rules without becoming a public post. We remove content that violates these Guidelines or applicable Indian law, and may ban the accounts responsible. If you see such content, please report it.

a. Adherence to Applicable Laws

All content you add or share must comply with the laws of India, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it.

b. Nudity and Sexual Content

Usernames, profile photos and list names must not contain nudity, sexually explicit material, sexual solicitation, or any content that is paedophilic or harmful to children.

c. Harassment or Bullying

We do not tolerate harassment or bullying. This includes abusive language, insulting or objectifying someone based on their race, caste, colour, disability, religion, gender or sexual preference, and making unwanted sexual advances. If someone does not accept your friend request or unfriends you, respect it, and do not contact them again from another account.

d. Location Privacy and Stalking

Never use Roam to follow, track, watch or turn up uninvited where someone is. Do not share another person's location, visits, address or personal details without their consent, or use top visitors or friend information to locate or intimidate anyone. Violations may lead to permanent suspension and reporting to the authorities.

e. Intellectual Property

Only share Instagram reels and posts you are comfortable sharing, and respect that they belong to their creators. Do not use another person's or brand's photos, logos or names as your own.

f. Violence and Hate

Content that glorifies violence, incites violence or hatred, or demeans any religion, race, caste, ethnicity, community, nationality, disability or gender is not allowed.

g. Illegal Activities

We have zero tolerance for content that promotes illegal activities, including the sale or use of drugs, weapons or other illegal goods, or that uses list names or profiles to advertise such activities.

h. Non-Consensual Personal Content

Do not use another person's photo, or reveal their personal information, such as phone number, address, location or identity documents, without their express consent.

i. Spam and Fraud

Do not use Roam for spam, fake promotions, misleading list names, or impersonation for personal or financial gain.

j. Misinformation

Do not deliberately spread false information about places or people, including to damage a business's reputation.

COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

When you use our Platform, we expect you to follow certain norms.

a. Keep Your Visits Real

Mark only visits that really happened. Faking visits, spoofing your location or using multiple accounts to climb top visitors or game lists is not allowed.

b. Multiple or Fake Profiles

You may have only one account. Creating a fake profile, or impersonating an individual or business, is not allowed.

c. Friend Requests

Send friend requests only to people you want to connect with. Repeatedly sending requests to someone who hasn't accepted will be treated as harassment.

d. Respect the Places You Visit

Places on Roam are real businesses and public spaces. Treat them, and the people who work there, with respect.

e. Safety and Security

Do not do anything that makes other users feel unsafe or uncomfortable, online or in person. If you ever feel unsafe, contact local emergency services first (112 in India).

f. Beware of Legal Consequences

Ignorance of law is not an excuse. Please follow all laws that govern conduct online and in public places while using Roam.

g. Evading Suspension

Our decision to suspend an account is binding. Creating new accounts to get around a suspension will lead to further suspension or permanent termination.

REPORTING

If you see a profile, list name or activity that violates these Guidelines, use the report option in the app or email security@lifeatsocial.com with the username and what happened. We review every report and act on content that breaks these Guidelines.

INTERMEDIARY STATUS AND REVIEW OF CONTENT

We are an intermediary under applicable Indian law. We do not control what users add to the Platform and are not responsible for their actions, online or offline. You are responsible for what you add and do. If users report your content or behaviour as violating these Guidelines, we may take enforcement action.
